Instructions

In the Library's online journal databases, you can find scholarly resources of a much higher quality than most websites available through Google. You will need to use these databases in your courses at LCSC.

For this exercise, you will need to find a journal article on one of the topics listed below (your choice) and complete a form showing us how and where you found a scholarly article related to that topic.

Go to the Library's webpage. Click on the "Find Articles & More" link, then on "Databases".

If you already know how to search for scholarly articles, great! Go right to the box below and complete the form. If you need help getting up to speed, you can go through some online tutorials or get help from a librarian. Click on the Need Help? tab for more information.

Choose one of the following topics and find an article about it in a database:

  • Should colleges cut their funding of athletics?
  • Why are celebrities so important in American culture?
  • Is global warming causing severe storms?
  • Should same-sex marriage be legal?
  • Are reality TV shows racist?
  • Should texting and cellphone use while driving be banned?
  • Should the U.S. legalize marijuana?
  • Do vaccines cause autism?

When you've completed the form below, clicking on Submit will send the form to the librarians at the Information Desk. They will grade your exercise and let you know (through LCmail) how you did. You will hear from them within a week. If you don't hear within a week, they didn't get your exercise. Send it again.
