Reserve Collection:

Checkout times and limits vary. Please ask at the Circulation Desk.

Renewals

Most items are auto-renewed once, 2 days before the due date. Items may not be renewed again.

Renewal exceptions:

  • Guests may not renew items.
  • Reserve materials, laptops and projectors may not be renewed.
  • Items requested by other patrons may not be renewed.

 

Returns

Library materials may  be returned at the circulation desk or in one of the two drop boxes outside the library. A drop box is located at the south end of the library parking lot and a book depository is located near the entrance doors on the southeast side of the library across from the bike rack.

Laptop Checkouts

The Laptop Checkout Program is funded with Student Technology Fees that are administered by the IT department. The Library facilitates the program through the Circulation Desk for current LCSC students.

Through the program, students are able to borrow a laptop from the Library. Students are required to complete a laptop liability statement form and present a current WarriorOne card to check out a laptop.

Laptops check out for either 24 hours or 7 days.

Library Notices

The LCSC Library produces overdue notices each weekday. Notices are a courtesy, and failure to receive one does not constitute the waiving of any incurred fines.

Patrons will receive notices via email.

Fines and Fees

Patrons are responsible for knowing when their items are due.

Late fines:

Books

25¢ per day/per item
Media $1.00 per day/per item
Hourly Reserves $1.00 per hour/per item
Day Reserves $10.00 per day/per item
Recalled Items $2.00 per day/per item
Daily Laptops $2.50 per hour
Weekly Laptops     $20.00 per day
Interlibrary Loans $3.00 per day/per item

Lost or Damaged Items

All patrons are responsible for lost and damaged items on their accounts.

Items not returned by the assigned due date will be listed as lost and a lost item fee will be charged to the borrower.

Damaged material will be assessed and individuals will be charged a replacement cost for the item.

Suspension of privileges

Patrons will not be able to check out materials (including laptops) if they have an overdue item or an existing library fine. Students with overdue materials or fines will have a hold placed on their record in the campus Colleague system. The hold will remain until all financial obligations have been cleared with the library.

Refunds

If an item is found within 90 days of payment and a replacement has not been purchased, the LCSC Library will refund the cost of the item minus the $10 processing fee. Overdue fees will not be refunded.

If an item has been found, but the library has already purchased another copy, the library is unable to offer a refund. The patron may keep the item.
