The LCSC Libary is unable to borrow required course textbooks via Interlibrary Loan. Textbook collections are usually reserved for campus-use only and are not loaned to other libraries.
Required course textbooks may be purchased at the LCSC Bookstore.
Interlibrary Loan Instructions
LCSC students, faculty and staff members may use this form to request items. LCSC Alumni and members of the community need to contact their local public library for interlibrary loan service.
Interlibrary loan request forms can be found by clicking the tabs above. There are two different forms - one for journal articles and one for books, media, etc.
Please avoiding the use of abbreviations.
Journal articles will be emailed to your LCSC email address.
When all other materials arrive, your name will be placed on the board at the LCSC Library Circulation Desk. We will also email your LC email account.
Interlibrary Loan items accrue fines at the rate of $3 / day per item. Students with overdue materials or fines will not be able to check out materials, and a hold will be placed on their record in the campus Colleague system. The hold will remain until all financial obligations have been cleared with the library.
You may call the Interlibrary Loan Dept. at 208-792-2394 to inquire about the status of your order.

Interlibrary Loan Policy
The Interlibrary Loan Service provides LCSC students, faculty, and staff with access to materials not available at the LCSC Library. The library is a member of Washington Idaho Network (WIN) and the OCLC consortia. The mission of both WIN and OCLC is to provide a structure to facilitate opportunities for sharing resources.
Most articles arrive within 1-2 business days and can be accessed online when you receive email notification. Books usually arrive within 10 business days. Interlibrary Loan requests for books and media are processed Monday – Friday.
Each library has its own policies mandating the loan period and renewal availability. The due date is noted on the bookstrap. Renewals must be requested at least three days before the due date. Renewals are not granted on overdue materials.
If an Interlibrary Loan item is not returned by the due date, the student will be charged a late fine of $3 per day/per item. Students with overdue materials or fines will not be able to check our materials, and a hold will be placed on their record in the campus Colleague system. The hold will remain until all financial obligations have been cleared with the library.
Washington-Idaho Network (WIN)
The LCSC Library is a member of WIN consortium of libraries in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. The LCSC Library catalog also includes the holdings of North Idaho College Library. This common catalog allows LCSC students to search the collections of both libraries in a single query. The LCSC Library catalog is available through the LCSC Library home page.
LCSC students, faculty, and staff may initiate a request for materials from the NIC Library in two ways. Patrons initiate a request by either filling out a form available on the LCSC Library home, or by filling out a Patron-Initiated Hold available from LCSC Library catalog. Requestors must have a valid WarriorOne card.
Once a request is initiated, Library staff verifies the patron information and location of the material. If the patron has fines or overdue materials, the request will not be fulfilled. When an item arrives at the LCSC Library, the patron will be notified via Warrior e-mail. Items will remain on the Interlibrary Loan pick-up shelf for ten days. If an item is not picked up within that time, it will be returned to the owning library. Individuals will need a current WarriorOne card to pick up their ILL materials.
The LCSC Library is a member of OCLC, a nonprofit membership of libraries worldwide dedicated to furthering access to the world’s information resources and reducing information costs. The OCLC service is available to LCSC students, faculty, and staff.
The LCSC Library staff uses the OCLC system to request an item when it is not available at a WIN library. Patrons must complete an Interlibrary Loan form in order to initiate a request. Forms are available on the LCSC Library home page, on OCLC WorldCat, and at the library. Patrons must indicate on the form whether they are willing to pay for the requested item. Charges from loaning libraries can range from $3 to $20. The LCSC Library will make every effort to obtain an item at low or no cost. The patron is responsible for all charges once the request is sent via OCLC.
An online request is placed with holding libraries for the request once patron information is verified. Every effort is make to request materials from libraries that do not charge for loans. However, at times it is not possible to borrow an item from a holding library without a charge for the loan.
